Make default GUI settings and sidebar snapins for new users configurable in Global settings
KB article https://checkmk.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/9472537/How-to+set+graphical+user+interface+GUI+defaults describes how to set the default GUI behaviour for new users (show more/less, timeformat mixed/both/absolute, Sidebar snapins).
It would be more convenient, if these settings could be configured in the GUI in Global Settings, especially because errors in the manual configuration file will crash the GUI with "500 internal server error".

Hi Dirk,
Thank you for posting on our Ideas Portal.
Which settings in particular would you configure for your new users? -

DirkSimilar to show more / show less, which is already available as a global settings, it would be useful, if the other personal user settings could be globally defined as well, so that all newly created users will start with the same customized settings.
Personal settings
- start url (for example to set the problem dashboard as default, even in Enterprise edition)
User interface settings
- user interface theme: default/custom: light/dark
- sidebar position: left/right
- navigation bar icons: show title/do not show title
- mega menu icons: per topic/per entry
It would be helpful, if the settings from the KB article could be configured in the GUI under Global settings, especially Sidebar snapins and timestamp format:
Sidebar
- global setting for default sidebar snapins for new users would be helpful, i.e. to add "Tree of folders" by default
Timestamp format (ts_format)
- Global default setting for Timestamp format would be helpful: mixed/absolute/reletive/both/unix
