Improve PS Check - add top x Process by CPU / by Memory Option
When server utilization is high, server owners and application managers often want to know which processes consume the most CPU or memory in order to see processes that are not usually on their radar but can cause unexpected problems (e.g. a backup process or user process or an irregularly running process).
The PS Check can monitor already all processes (or a subset of them) and show the CPU/memory of each Process. However, this list of processes can not be sorted by CPU or memory usage and can get very long on bigger hosts (5000+ Process).
Can you add an option “show top x by CPU” and “show top x by Memory” to the PS Check. This would allow us to set up a “Process by CPU” and “Process by Memory” service that shows the top x processes by CPU or memory usage.

It would be great to get the info because only the admin has host access which are 2 people of 20 application admins who has no access to the host at all. -

Robert SanderThis is such a volatile information that IMHO it is easier to just log into the system and run top.

Lars SörensenBy the time the alarm receiver has received the alarm and has been able to log into the system, the situation has changed again and the cause can often no longer be identified. Especially if they are short-term peaks or only coincide with a certain constellation.
The agent already provides all the required information, the check only needs to store it in a suitable form for subsequent analysis. -

Christian FriedrichWe also require such a feature, particularly for analysing past CPU-related issues.
