Service discovery: Assign labels during discovery
I’d love to see a feature where we can assign service labels at the moment of service discovery.
The idea is simple: when a new service is discovered, I can immediately tag it with a label, making it easier to organize and automate actions later.
For example, I could label new databases or a new app right away, enabling instant notification rules or other automations.
This would streamline workflows significantly and give us more flexibility right from discovery.
I believe this would benefit many of us and make our setups even more efficient!

Sascha Pantleon MergedIn addition to service discovery, I would love to see the same capability for process discovery.
When a process is discovered and a service is created from it, it would be extremely helpful to assign service labels automatically or directly during the discovery step. This would allow users to immediately classify important processes (e.g. application processes, middleware, monitoring-relevant daemons) without having to adjust labels afterward.
The benefit is similar to service discovery:
By setting labels at discovery time, these processes can instantly be used for notifications, rules, dashboards, or other automation use cases. This saves time, avoids manual follow-up work, and keeps configurations consistent from the very beginning.
I believe this would significantly improve workflows for environments with many monitored processes and make process discovery even more powerful and flexible. -
