Custom host attributes can be used in rule conditions

30 votes

Hello everyone,

Our usecase:
We use Custom Host Attributes to add for example virutal IP Adresses to Server configuration so we can use them in active checks like HTTP(S) checks. I am sure, there are a lot of different other usecases.

The issue:
It seems to be not possible to set conditions to Custom Attribues (neither set/not set nor values of these attributes). So we manually have to create labels/tags like "cha/jvm:*jvmname*" in order to use them in rules.

Possible solutions:
1. Make Custom Host Attributes available as condition for rules. Best case both: "is set/not set" and "value is/isnot X".
2. Give option to create label/tag based on the Attribute (like "Add to monitoring configuration........ X Make this custom attribute available to check commands, notifications and the status GUI" => "Create label based on Attribute..... X")

You can also think about the same for Custom Service Attributes.

Thanks in advance.
