Mohamed Saleh AdminHi Ralf,
Thank you for posting on our Ideas Portal!
We understand that the idea is about enabling Checkmk to notice and alert you when you have created the same host twice, once with host name, and the second time using the IP address in the host name field. We would like to learn more about what the problem you are trying to solve is, or how this idea would be helpful for you. For example, what is the use case where you would need to create the host name twice?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Warm Regards,
Your Checkmk team -

Ralf PrengelHallo,
yes that is exactly the problem.
I the creation is an "accident" and should not happen.
How does it happen:
I add an host by name manually. The host ist detected by the folder featruer network detection after starting the system the fisrt time. If the dns setup in the network ist not active or wrong the host is added by ip.
How I solve this:
I am checking the filder every day and identify ip-baes entries with a simple nslookup. Than I rename the host and get an error message og checkmk if the host ist existing.
