Monitor NetApp Snapshots

It would be great if I could monitor the snapshots made on a NetApp volume the same way it's done with ESXi/vSphere snapshots: Age of oldest, age of newest, and additionally, count of snapshots. The latter would be nice for ESXi, too, with upper and lower limits.
Bonus if these limits are configurable additionally per snapshot label, alternatively regex name of snapshot (or both...)
