We need to have the ability to migrate multiple hosts between sites without any data loss

Martin MergedCurrently you have to do a new discovery on a host and all historical graph data is left behind on the old site. You can manually grab this data from CLI and safely copy it over but it would be neat if this was a built-in feature

Daniel Roettgermann MergedIts not only graph history, its also all other history data related to that host which is gonne. for example downtimes/availability/notification history

Bastian Kuhn tried to solve it (still not working perfectly, but at least all graphs are there)

very similiar related, not quite the same

idman MergedIt would be nice to have an option to copy the historical data. There are situations where a clean history is desired as well.

Matteo FracassettiTrue, this could be very useful.

Maybe to be merged with 1-2 extra notes to add? -

Niklas Pulina AdminHi Daniel, thanks for pointing out the similarity between the suggestions. We've merged the host-related ones as they cover basically the same use case.

Hermann M. MergedYou should keep acknowledgements and downtimes of a host that is moved to a different site in the multisite environment. Otherwise they get lost when the host has been moved and need to be re-added.

Kevin Esser MergedCurrently there is no migration of the extended information regarding Downtimes/Comments or Acknowledgments.

This would be a great feature, if those information are migrated while moving a host to another satellite, too. -

Daniel RoettgermannITs the fours feature request in that direction now
clearly there is more and more need and not only for MSP but also for balancing loads between sites in "normal" environments -

Nicolas Vongeheur MergedWhen a host is moved between two distributed sites, the total historical data are left behind. How is the consent out there? Is this a feature which should be part of CheckMK or is it totally fine to use 3rd party scripts to do the job?
There is a script out there which does exactly this, but doesn't touch the core related data (host and service events).
