Appliance: Enable management through Rest-API or command line

In a modern and high automated environment, I want to be able to configure my appliances also in an automated way. This could be done via Rest-API or by providing command line tools.
This automation enablement should provide all functionality, that is implemented into the webconf of the appliance.

It would be awesome, if all configuration options of the checkmk Appliance and additionally checkmk updates / installs were configurable with a rest api for easier deployment and management .

Very good idea. To go a step further I would encourage to deliver a jenkins plugin.
In such a scenario this would integrate into a lot of companies. On one side the git repo in between jenkins and on the other end of the chain the provisioned checkmk server.

ansible, an option to use a preseed file and if possible installation using tftp/pxe would be great too
