SNMP Data Fetching and Processing using Web Interface
Enable a ruleset to retrieve SNMP information (Custom OIDs) and create some basic queries and maybe a logic to process retrieved data:
- Single OID data retrieval
- Set critical values
- Set warning values
- Change the output
- Calculate data (Multiply, Convert, Add or Subtract)
- Process data (AND, OR, IF and Else Statements)
This feature would make the whole SNMP monitoring more easier for devices that are not already onboarded on CheckMK. For now if someone want's to retrieve a single custom OID it will be necessary to use a Nagios plugin or go to scripting.

Robert Sandercheck_snmp is already included.
This extension adds a ruleset for its configuration: https://exchange.checkmk.com/p/check-snmp -

Paulo AdrianoI`m using check_snmp, it works but the experience could be a lot better. That extension looks great but it`s not official, after an major upgrade it could stop working.

HYU@Robert Sander is it possible to have your extension support string values? It seems like only integer is supported currently, if I check an OID that returns a string the value is listed as null.

David Callahan MergedVia WATO or Agent Bakery have the option to build a SNMP Plugin where you can enter the name, oid, unit, thresholds via a nice user interface. Have the ability to test against a host or IP. I guess on the backend it will generate the script file that will then be used when the host is inventoried. This basically would write and place the phyton scripts in the proper folder.
